Cloutman Thanksgiving

It’s been an incredibly busy week for me, so I’m glad to have finally gotten myself some spare time to blog. I am, at this point in time, sitting on a meeting table at the living room of my Tita Kaye’s house in Tracy. I am loving the ambience of her beautiful home, the friendly and peaceful neighborhood, and of course, the great company of good friends and family the Cloutmans and the Baltazars.

We had an amazing belated Thanksgiving dinner last night, prepared by the man and woman of the house Tito John and Tita Kaye Cloutman. We killed a whole bird! And just when I thought I saved one, having eaten Tamales for Thanksgiving instead a week ago, I had three servings yesterday evening! If I am not mistaken, it took Tito John almost an entire day to cook the turkey, and his efforts surely paid off! Everything was perfect from the turkey, to the sides (mashed potato and salad), to Tita Kaye’s mouthwatering homemade desserts, up to the heartwarming white mocha we all enjoyed after the feast (topped with irresistible whipped cream!). We all slept around 1 A.M. last night, and it was just too bad that Tita Lulu didn’t have the luxury of time to stay overnight as well.

This was definitely one of the best weekends I have ever had. Papa Cali, Mama Julie, and Tita Kaye are currently cooking lunch I cannot wait! I can already smell the Curry (Filipino style!) from the Kitchen.
